Spotted Scorpionfish
Roatan, Honduras (Overheat Reef) – 3/27/2016 & Bonaire (Small Wall) – 5/13/2013
The distinguishing features are the 3 dark bars on the tail. These fish have venomous spines and puncture wounds can cause severe pain and illness. You don’t want to bother or step on one of these guys (which can be tricky, because their nickname is “stonefish” because they blend in with the other stones and rubble near the beach).
